Stan Kenton and his orchestra performed at the Patio Gardens in March 1962. Many of Stan Kenton's concerts were recorded and have been made available on CD. 1965 

The Beach Boys were immensely popular in Salt Lake City and had performed at Lagoon seven times from 1963 to 1970. They wrote and recorded a song as a tribute to fans in Utah and it was recorded 30 March 1965. Beach Boys historian Peter Reum has been quoted saying, "Salt Lake was such a hotbed of Beach Boys fever that the Salt Lake City Downtown Merchants Association pressed 1,000 copies of this song as a single that was used strictly as a promotional item." The song was also released on their album, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) that same year. Push the play button next to the track below to hear a clip from the song.

1968

While filming footage for their only motion picture, The Monkees put on a free concert at Bountiful's Valley Music Hall on 17 May 1968. They filmed several performances of the song Circle Sky and played several other songs for the crowds. A poorly recorded vocal track was ultimately replaced with a studio overdub for the film, but the instrumental tracks you'll hear in this clip are from that concert as included in their film, Head. The concert was so successful, The Monkees played another concert in the Patio Gardens ballroom at Lagoon that night. This was the last time all of the original band members would perform again in the United States until 1986. The Monkees also stopped at Lagoon on their 1986 tour.
