EXPLORE LAGOON: PIONEER VILLAGE TOUR: Pioneer Village Print Shop
PIONEER VILLAGE PRINT SHOP

From the 1980s or '90s until just recently this was known as the Deseret News Print Shop. The sign above the door still says "Est. 1850" which was when Deseret News was established. The exhibit used to feature the first press used by the Deseret News, but was moved to the Museum Of Church History in Salt Lake City during the 1990s. For about twenty years, the presses operated for guests on Saturdays during the summer.

Lying on this table are prints from the completion of the transcontinental railroad and unfinished copies of the Village Voice.

You can find this relic in the front window.
