Octopus List Of Old Rides Pioneer Village Railroad

1976-19__

Location: Pioneer Village

HISTORY & INFO

The Ox-Drawn Wagon was one of five original rides operating when Pioneer Village opened in 1976. The other rides included the Stagecoach, Log Flume, Lagoon Miniature Railroad and Pioneer Village Railroad. It presumably used the same trail as the Stagecoach did at the time, but the path could have changed for both at different times. The Stagecoach trail went down Main Street, turned right at the Bakery and continued across Farmington Creek and through the wooded area (which is now mostly occupied by Rattlesnake Rapids) and finally crossing the creek again to travel behind the old P.V.R.R. station and Dern Barn and back onto Main Street.

Not much information is availabe on this ride, but I doubt it lasted for more than a few years. If you have any memories, photos or other information, please email me at farmingtonstar@hotmail.com.
