FARMINGTON — For those who prefer on-stage singers to screaming roller coasters, Lagoon is still the place to go with three new musical shows: “On Broadway,” “Rock U2 the Top” and “Electric 80s.”

“Our three musical shows this year are all song and dance shows aimed at different demographics, and they are all completely brand new shows,” said Lagoon Executive Vice President of Marketing Director Dick Andrew. “We’ve been doing live musical entertainment here at Lagoon for years, and every year we try to put on new shows.”

The Lagoon Music Theatre, the bigger stage at the park, is currently presenting On Broadway, which is a musical revue featuring beloved songs from traditional musicals like Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady and 42nd Street, as well as newer and more contemporary shows like Les Miserables, Dreamgirls and Hairspray.

At the Carousel Theatre, Rock U2 the Top features singing and dancing with today’s chart-topping pop hits, and Electric 80s features hits from the 80s complete with big hair, leg warmers, shoulder pads and other fashion styles of the memorable decade.

“Our performers all sing live, and they are mostly young adults and college and high school age kids,” Andrew said. “We have some of the best performers from all over the mountain west.”

On Broadway will run Monday through Saturday at both 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Lagoon Musical Theatre. Rock U2 the Top will run Monday and Wednesday through Saturday at 6:15, 7:45 and 9:15 p.m., and Sundays at 5:15, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. in the Carousel Theatre.

Electric 80s will also show in the Carousel Theatre, with times being Tuesday through Saturday at 1:30, 2:30, 3:45 and 4:45 p.m., and Sundays at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:45 p.m.
